혼자서 그네를 타는 무위의 시간이 멈춘 것은
천길 만길 거대한 물줄기의 생명을
죽은 듯 산 듯 캔버스에 옮기기 시작하고부터다.

시간을 견디는 번민과 좌절의 기억에서
온갖 상념을 털어낼 수 있었던 것은
수만 번, 아니 수십만 번의 붓질을 통해서부터다.

It was not until I started to paint the life of the giant and spectacular watershed with its warts,
that I stopped spending idly my most time on a swing.

Only after I drew pictures using tens of thousands brush movements, I could get all kinds of anxiety, frustration and disappointment off my chest, and overcome very painful memories of it.
